The obligations of mediation agencies in the employment of foreign workers are:

What are my obligations when hiring?2023-09-11T07:04:30+00:00

After obtaining a work permit for a foreign worker, when the worker arrives in the Republic of Croatia, it is necessary to provide accommodation and food for the worker.
Accommodation should meet the minimum requirements for a normal life. If it is not possible to provide food, it is necessary to pay the worker a food supplement.
Furthermore, you are obliged to register the worker for pension and health insurance, just like every Croatian worker.

What conditions do I need to meet in order to obtain a residence and work permit?2023-09-11T07:03:58+00:00

In order to obtain the necessary permits, the conditions are:
- to perform economic activity in an activity registered in the Republic of Croatia
- that you have employed 1/4 of Croatian citizens compared to citizens of third countries, on an indefinite and full-time basis continuously for the last 6 months
- a certificate from the Tax Administration on the absence of debt on the basis of public benefits, which should be more recent than the date of submission of the application for residence and work permits
- that you have not been legally convicted of criminal offenses in the field of labor relations and social security

Can the worker come right away?2023-09-11T07:03:08+00:00

Unfortunately no. Since these are citizens of third countries, a work permit and visa are required to enter the Republic of Croatia.
The process can last between 45 and 90 days and depends on the speed of the institutions working on them.
Negotiations and preparation of documents take an average of 4 to 10 days and depend on the employer. The process of recruitment and selection of workers can last from 1 to 30 days, or more if specific professions are sought (up to 60 days). The labor market test (for professions that are not in short supply) lasts 15 days. Obtaining a work permit takes from 15 to 30 days depending on the police station. Obtaining a visa takes 15 to 30 days and depends on the embassy. The organization of travel and the arrival of workers in Croatia lasts from 1 to 10 days.
